Are you dancin’?

There’s a big difference between standing on the edge watching everyone else, and actually getting up on the dance floor to strutt your stuff with carefree abandon.

Why, as adults, do we find this so difficult?

Remember how you danced when you were a child?

Like no-one was watching.

How would it feel to dance like that again?

What happened to make us so uptight that we can hardly move anymore?

Most people seem to dance like they're scared to step outside of their boxes.

What’s that all about?

It seems that as we develop through adulthood, we train ourselves so well to fit in, look the part and not step outside the norm, that we’ve become clones, pre-packaged, but with all that is truly us kept neatly under wraps.

We’d rather watch others take the plunge, look silly and we even avoid getting on the dance floor at all, preferring to spend our lives watching other people live theirs.

But where would you rather be?

I know I’d rather be dancing.

So what does it take to get up on the dancefloor? Well, like any sport its all about preparation – getting the mind and body prepared for the dance. With a healthy body and a healthy mind, you can achieve almost anything. You’ll be in the state that athletes often refer to as being "in the flow", or as I call it "mojo". This is the state when your senses are heightened, you tend to make good decisions and you are operating at your optimum level.

There’s some training required, the results can be instant, but when practised over a long period of time, it’s a feeling that’s sustainable.

Getting there - to the dancefloor - is easy.

Your biggest challenge is making the decision in the first place.

So, are you dancin’?
