Be Here Now

"Work like you don't need the money

Love like you've never been hurt

And dance like no-on is watching!"

So what is the state of "mojo"?

Ever had that feeling where you were completely 'in the flow? That everything you touched turned to gold, that no matter what life threw at you, you could handle it?

If you have, you'll know how great it feels, but chances are that these times in your life have been few and far between.

So, if you were to discover that it was possible to feel like this every day, would you be prepared to listen? Of course you would.

With today's busy lifestyles, you might feel burnt out, stressed out, or just feeling that life is one big struggle. Yet, when do you ever take time out to look after yourself?

Just like a car that you drive around in every day, you need a service, a full MOT every now and again, even upgrade your current model. If a car is neglected, it doesn't run so well and driving it feels like a struggle.

Mojo is the state where everything seems to come to you almost effortlessly, you have a heightened sense of awareness and you are completely absorbed in what you are doing.

By accessing this state on a regular basis, you will find your general wellbeing improves, you are more able to deal with whatever life throws at you and you can start living day-to-day without the constant useless mental chatter that we usually subject ourselves to.

The good news is that you can learn to create your own happiness and state of wellbeing.

But your first step, here today and for the rest of your life, is to Be Here Now. Time to stop dwelling on the past - what good is it doing you? And quit worrying about the future - its not going to change anything, just make you feel bad, so is there any point?

Wherever you are, whatever you're doing, whoever you're with, be there - fully. If we are constantly living in the past or the future, when are we ever happy?

So why not make the decision to be here now, let go of the past and the future for the next 3 hours and just emerge yourself fully in the moment?

Why put off being happy until tomorrow when tomorrow never comes?

The Mojo Facts of Life

1. Worrying is Futile

We spend so much time worrying about things that never happen, and does the worrying ever get us anywhere? Worries are just thoughts you don't need. They hold you back, they hinder your progress, they make you feel awful. So let them go! By entering into the state of "mojo", you release yourself of your worries, of all the thoughts in your head that you don't need at that moment. Instead you learn to emerge yourself in the present moment, and start living again.

2. We all have a Choice and a Degree of Control

We can't control things that happen in life - deaths, accidents, other people's feelings - that's not how life works. We do, however, have a choice as to how we react to the things that happen to us and we can change how we respond and feel about these things.

Most people struggle with life and try to resist what is happening. By accepting life as it is - uncertain - and letting go of our attachments to certain outcomes, we re-discover life as the wonderful mystery it is. This is the Eastern way of thinking. In the West we have been conditioned to pursue happiness through external means - go-getting, working hard, making money - but in the East, they believe that happiness comes from within.

4. Happiness is not an Outcome

It isn't something you can acquire, buy in a shop, an amount you earn or how much you weigh, its a state of mind and body. Happiness is the response that you feel to what is happening in your life. Why wait around for something to make you happy when you can be happy right now? What happens if tomorrow never comes?

5. Perfection Doesn't Exist

Our society's obsession with perfection is making the nation unhappy. Perfection is an ideology, its not reality. And if it doesn't exist, then striving for it will only make you unhappy and leave you wanting more. Like "tomorrow", perfection is not a reality, so let go of it. So you go off track? Fine, you've done it, you've probably learned from it, now its in the past, so let it go, move on and get back to "now".

6. Its Good to Get Out of Your Head!

There's a reason why so many people are using drugs of all kinds, its pure escapism. People are trying to escape their own minds because they are thinking too much, and the thinking is not actually helping them. But there are other ways to do this which don't cause so much damage and mean that we can have those same feelings but without the drugs. We need to recognise that our thoughts are not reality, that they are just stories and interpretations that we create in our heads, and that we can learn to accept or reject at will. By separating yourself from your "thinking" mind, you learn to appreciate the moment, the "now" and life starts to flow with a lot more ease.

3. Life, by Definition, is Uncertain
