The most valuable lessons I have learned in life have been those I have gained through real-life experiences, and as I’ve grown older (and hopefully wiser), I’ve begun to take every life challenge, and try to find the learning in it.
Life is a struggle sometimes; when I think of some of the injustices going on around me - it’s a sad fact to acknowledge - I realise that bad things happen to good people. A young , intelligent, warm-natured man I know is losing his sight. My sister, a saint, lost the love of her life at 38 – a kind, compassionate man, who never had a bad word to say about anyone.
There’s no rhyme or reason to this stuff. They don’t deserve it. Just shit happens, and somehow we have to try to live with this nonsense; to try to make some sense out of this crazy world we live in.
The strategy I fall back on is that we can only do what we can do. We have to focus our attention on the things which are under our control, the things that we can influence, and try to accept those things we can’t.
Life chucks some nasty smelling shit at us sometimes, and all we can do is try and dodge the missiles, and do our best to wash off the residue of what did hit us.
It was a healer in Topsham called Marlene Gardner who taught me about the “psychic bubble”. Marlene faced adversity in her own life, and when her husband passed away, she decided to dedicate her time to helping others through her healing therapies. People always feel better having spent time in her company, and I admire that quality. She is effectively changing the world one person at a time; using what she has to make a difference.
Anyway, Marlene taught me about having a “psychic bubble”. I’d heard of the term, “being under psychic attack”, and at the time, I was experiencing what could only be described as psychic annihilation.
In this case, the psychic attack was another person directing negative energy at me, and it was infiltrating my whole being, making me feel physically ill, as well as anxious and exhausted. I couldn’t see it at the time, but Marlene pointed out that I needed psychic protection. She taught me to imagine I was in a glass bubble, which surrounded and protected me.
It reminded me of Batfink and his wings which were “like a shield of steel”. Bullets would bounce off his wings, and they protected him from all the evil sources which came my way.
From them on, I became more aware of my own energy, my surroundings and those around me. I could sense when I was under attack, and when that happened, I would imagine that I was in my psychic bubble. It was safe inside, no-one could hurt me unless I allowed them in, and any negativity directed at me just bounced off the though reinforced exterior of my glass bubble.
Shortly afterwards, my life changed beyond recognition, the energy vampires lost their power, and I felt free.
Every now and then, I need reminded of the lessons I have learned in life. The universe had a strange way of helping us recall those lessons. Sometimes we forget; we go back to old, unhelpful patterns, and react badly to situations. Yet, each time we re-learn the lesson, we embed it that bit deeper. And each time we realise that we hold our own power and protection, it makes us that little bit stronger.
